Overview
Park Shore sits along Naples' Gulf coast between the Moorings and Venetian Village, bounded by Gulf Shore Boulevard N to the west and US-41 to the east. Developer Raymond L. Lutgert began assembling the 760-acre parcel in 1964, and over the next several years his team laid out what became one of the first planned-unit developments in Florida — carving Venetian Bay out of the mangroves to separate a Gulf-front strand of high-rises from a mainland grid of canal-front and interior single-family lots. That two-sided plan is still what makes Park Shore unusual today: a resident can own a three-bedroom canal home a five-minute walk from US-41, or a beachfront condo on Gulf Shore Boulevard, and both addresses are "Park Shore."
The neighborhood's defining amenity is the Park Shore Beach Walk, a 1.33-mile paved promenade running the length of the Gulf-front strand, maintained by the Gulfshore Association of Condominiums and open to residents of the beachfront buildings. On the bay side, Park Shore Marina offers over 200 wet slips (boats up to 100 ft) and roughly 300 dry-storage spaces just off Venetian Bay, and the Village Shops on Venetian Bay put more than 45 waterfront restaurants, boutiques, and galleries within a short walk or golf-cart ride of most of the neighborhood. Walk Score rates Park Shore a 35 — the 4th-most-walkable neighborhood in Naples — which tracks with residents' experience: daily errands still mean a car, but the beach, marina, and Venetian Bay shops are all reachable on foot from most addresses.
